Route planning features for multi-drop delivery rounds

vRouted plans each van's round around three things: what the van can carry, when each customer can take their delivery, and how long the driver can work. Here's everything it does today, and what it doesn't do yet.

Spreadsheet stops flowing into coloured routes at a depot

Import from a spreadsheet

Bring your stops in from the spreadsheet you already use - one row per round, addresses in the columns after it. Try it with a template or a ready-made sample file, no account required.

Driver following a vRouted run sheet on a phone

Run sheets your drivers can follow

Every optimised route exports as a printable run sheet, with a Google Maps link for each stop - drivers follow it from their phone, no separate driver app required.

Core optimisation

Multi-constraint round optimisation
Van planned against capacity, time windows and completed checks

Each van's round is optimised against its capacity, its customers' delivery windows and the driver's shift and maximum hours, rather than worked out by hand and checked afterwards.

Includes:

  • Capacity-aware sequencing
  • Hard delivery-window constraints
  • Driver shift & max hours built in
Multi-vehicle fleet planning

The day's stops are split across your whole fleet by capacity at once, not van by van, so no drop is left unassigned.

Includes:

  • Fleet-wide assignment
  • Vehicle-specific capacity limits
  • Multi-depot planning on Pro
Cost and distance estimates

Every optimised round shows estimated miles, drive time and cost, so you can see what today's plan cost against yesterday's.

Includes:

  • Per-round mileage & time estimate
  • Cost-per-round estimate
  • Day-over-day comparison

Fleet and driver planning

Vehicle profiles

Set each vehicle's capacity, running cost and working-hour limits once, and the optimiser plans against them every day.

Includes:

  • Capacity in your own unit (cages, pallets, kg)
  • Running cost per vehicle
  • Working-hour limits
Driver scheduling

Assign drivers to shifts and daily rounds, with each driver's hours and shift template respected by the plan.

Includes:

  • Shift templates
  • Daily schedule assignment
  • Driver hour limits enforced
Run sheets

Every optimised route exports as a printable run sheet with a Google Maps link for each stop - drivers follow it from their phone, no separate driver app required.

Includes:

  • Printable PDF export
  • Per-stop map links
  • No driver app needed

Reporting

Dashboard stats

See active routes, fleet size, average route time and estimated cost savings at a glance.

Includes:

  • Active routes & fleet size
  • Average route time
  • Estimated cost savings
Route and distance records

Every optimisation run records total distance, time and cost, so you can compare rounds over time.

Includes:

  • Per-round distance & time
  • Per-round cost estimate
  • Historical route records

Platform and API

REST API

The same endpoints the web app itself uses are available directly, with a documented request and response shape for every route.

Includes:

  • Documented endpoints
  • Session-based authentication
  • Same API the app uses
Web Platform

A responsive web app, accessible from any device, with your data synced to the cloud.

Includes:

  • Works on desktop & mobile browsers
  • Cloud-hosted data
  • No install required

What vRouted doesn't do (yet)

vRouted is a planning tool. It isn't a telematics system or a driver app, so it doesn't do the following:

  • Live GPS tracking of vans during the day
  • A driver app, in-app messaging or proof of delivery. Drivers use the printed run sheet and map links
  • Re-routing vans that are already out on the road
  • Calculating legal drivers' hours breaks. You set shift limits that keep drivers within the rules that apply to them
  • Satnav-accurate arrival times. Miles and times are estimates for comparing plans
