A delivery stop takes roughly the same few minutes regardless of what's being dropped off. A service call doesn't: a filter swap might take twenty minutes, a full system install might take three hours, and the technician - not the software - usually only has a rough estimate going in. Route optimization for field service needs realistic, job-specific service-time estimates built into the schedule, not a flat default borrowed from delivery routing, or the day's later appointments start slipping by early afternoon.

A morning route built at 7am rarely survives the day unchanged in this business - a no-heat call in January or a burst pipe doesn't wait for tomorrow's schedule. A realistic adoption path
The lowest-risk place to start is routine maintenance routing - scheduled tune-ups and inspections, where service times are predictable and there's no emergency-insertion pressure. Keep emergency dispatch partly manual at first while you build confidence in the tool, then extend it once you've seen how it handles a real routine week. Trying to automate the least predictable part of the business on day one is the most common way this kind of rollout stalls.
